00 - INTRODUCTION
Hello there! First of all I have decided to do a blog to talk about art.
Everyody has its own conception of art, and considers what's art for them and what's not. This blog's aim is not to set a point of view on someone, nor to change anybody's conception about what's art. It's actually a self-reflection to get a wider knowledge of what I consider art. I will plunge into this task with a deep analyse of new things -and also not new- that I am discovering every new day and its artistic view.
Of course, I pretend to start on a low step and slowly climb steps until I achieve a deeper analysis. This desire has been always in me but it has specially grown since I have become an Art History student. I want to go through all different kinds of art pieces; some that many people know, through not that well-known movies, new clothes brands that are showing the world not just new trends also pieces of art.. Every little thing that I consider art I would love to talk about here, this is a very ambicious idea but it's what I desire to do.
As a student I have lots of work to do, plus other things, this is why I have decided to write and publish a post every friday of every week. With my self-knowing experiences, I will work harder on this project. I will find time from where I don't have it, I am sure it's gonna be worth it just for my self-reflection.
01 - JUMP FROM PAPER
Thanks to the mobile app Instagram, this last months I have discovered lots of different websites very different ones from other. The latest web, that never before I had heard about is, the magnific: Jump From Paper
It's a 2010 taiwanese brand that creates beautiful designed bags. The special thing about them is that they seem drawn, in two dimensions, and they are actually real three dimensional. This capacity of crating a three dimensonal bag into a flat drawing is incredible. If I have never checked their website I would have thought they were photos with a drawing on top, because that's what they seem! I think this is an example of art, that you can easily find outside your home. It's important to consider the use of this product as what it is: a bag containing your personal things.
From the other side it's also a big piece of art that you can carry around with you. So it's not a current painting that you find on a wall with its frame. It shows this new ways that art is found all around us.
Art keeps changing; every century has many different styles and lots of ways to be expressed, it's difficult to establish what defines an era. I believe this brand shows us an example that's very different from other styles that we can find right now in our days.
To end this first post I want to leave an image that's taken from their website of two of my favourite bags of theirs (specially the greeny one). I am trying my best and willing to improve my analysis.
